Presentation
Dear Colleagues,
Our discipline is founded on the integration of scientific rigor, clinical awareness, and decision-making ability.
It is precisely from these principles that the 2026 Congress of our Scientific Society, which I am honored to chair, originates.
It will take place on March 13–14, 2026, at the Palacongressi in Riccione:
Update on Class II Malocclusions: Scientific Evidence, Clinical Decisions, and Controversies
We have chosen to dedicate the entire congress to a topic that is both widespread and complex: the orthodontic management of Class II malocclusions.
This clinical condition, despite decades of experience, continues to spark debate due to the variety of available approaches and the many variables influencing outcomes.
The structure of the congress is designed to provide a critical synthesis, based on the most recent scientific evidence, through a comparison of the different therapeutic strategies available today.
We will be guided by a key question: which clinical choices can be rigorously supported by evidence, and which remain subject to variability and individual judgment?
Each session, organized by age group (early age, adolescence, adulthood), will feature contributions from highly qualified speakers, invited to answer specific, predefined questions shared in advance.
These questions will serve as the guiding thread of the presentations and discussions, with the aim of facilitating exchange, stimulating critical reflection, and reducing clinical subjectivity.
A central moment will be the interactive round tables, during which the audience will play an active role in building shared thinking.
From these discussions, the contents will emerge for drafting an official document of the Society: “Update on Class II Malocclusions: Scientific Evidence, Clinical Decisions, and Controversies” — a clinical-scientific synthesis to support our daily practice.
The congress will therefore be a scientifically grounded forum for dialogue, where the interaction between clinical practice, evidence, and technology will allow us to strengthen our therapeutic choices,
with the shared goal of improving our patients’ health.
There will also be informal opportunities for sharing and social interaction, which will make the experience even richer and more memorable.
I warmly invite you to participate and to contribute with your critical insight and enthusiasm to the success of this important event.
With kind regards,
Daniela Garbo
